Great Gatsby meets All that Jazz in a 1920s inspired music video. Featuring massive jazz dance scenes, it is perfect for me to review. Link to the full music video below in the image.

To fit the theme mentioned earlier, it is black and white throughout. Before the dance scenes, we see a woman in an office walking out on her boss. Then it flashes to Harry and a group of ensemble dancers on a stage. In my opinion, I love how they presented jazz dance as something to bring joy and to be carefree. This is because jazz has a strong technique that serves to portray freedom and effortlessness.

Some movements involved on the first few scenes are: step ball changes, jazz hands, pirouettes and high jumps - all pivotal to jazz dance. These movements are very exaggerated and sharp (as if they were performing at a theater rather than a camera).

The song itself does fit the style of dance and the setting as it has a joyous tone and lyrics like,'I just keep on dancing'.

Towards the bridge and throughout the rest of the music video, is a big jazz dance duet. This is between the woman earlier and the man himself, with an ensemble in the background and many dancers surrounding. Movements included in this section are: lifts, pas de bourree, ball changes, kicks and shuffles.

Overall, I would recommend this music video to you all as it combines original jazz dance with a modern song. As there is no theatre shows, this is the next best thing.

A tutorial on the last part of the dance will in the next post as well as the dance in its

full.
